Zero - 3 (Mutltiplication)

Dear All,  Continuing with the series on simplifying mathematics. Multiplication:- Base number multiplication. People look at it oddly but the system is more than centuries old. Base number 10. +2  +7 12 x 17 = 19 / (2*7) = 19 / 14 = 20 / 4 = 204. We put the differences from 10 above the numbers ie +2 & +7. There are a left side and right side of the answer. For the left side we add diagonally, 12+7 or 17+2 ie 19. For the right side we multiply the differences ie 2*7=14. Only one digit is to be kept on the right side, so we carry forward 1 out of 14. So, finally we get 20 on the left side and 4 on the right side. And the final answer is 204. Rather than memorizing tables, we do have an alternative. We do earn high degrees but find it difficult to fine-tune the basics. Some more examples:- +5 +8 15 x 18 = 15+8 / (5*8) = 23 / 40 = 270.   +6 +7 16 x 17 = 16+7 / (6*7) = 23 / 42 = 272.
